Revealing The Wizard of Oz

The curtain has been pulled back on Trump and his fire and fury, smoke and mirrors, scatter brained approach to Iran has been revealed. For all the threats, havoc and destruction, not to mention the senseless deaths and global economic chaos, little has been achieved. More importantly, the fear and effect of these actions will persist long-term.

A radical regime is still in place in Iran. The navy that is supposedly "sunk the bottom" and arial capabilities "eliminated" still lob attacks on American assets and allies as well as non-combatant shipping. The Iranian population remains traumatized and the opposition silenced. The Strait of Hormuz still, de facto, remains closed and the terms of peace are dictated by Iran. It is likely that if and peace deal is reached the resulting agreement will resemble what was negotiated under Obama in 2015.

The curtain pulled back on the Wizard of America, frantically pulling levers, huffing and puffing have revealed him for what he is - an abject failure of a self-serving and fraudulent Head of State. 

With mid-terms looming and the pools suggesting deep dissatisfaction with the Trump administration, the Wizard is panicking and a panicking Wizard, however discredited, is dangerous.

Watch for the lies to mount and the twisted narrative about how the American might was successful in "defeating" Iran. Be aware of the mounting assaults on the democratic process in the coming elections (which have already started with the alteration of districts). Expect the turmoil in American politics to continue in the years ahead.

The baseless hyperbole, sputtering from the Wizard's mouth will continue while the rest of the world is left dealing with accelerating inflation brought on by higher fuel costs across all sectors as well as affecting the cost of food and many other goods used by every person in every country.

This is in the midst of the prospect for continued war.

And what has really been achieved in the short, medium and long run? Will Iran buckle under and become a compliant peaceful regime, allowing more freedom to their people to express themselves and move toward democracy? Will the people of Iran stop shouting "Death to America" and embrace the intention to free them as something they can rely on? Will those same Iranians who have lost their homes and loved ones remember America as a compassionate global leader to emulate? 

Globally will US allies decelerate their plans to move away from the US on every aspect of their relationship?

Will the remaining allies of America who have carried out their own carnage on innocent people in Gaza and Lebanon have won the hearts and minds of those people?

I think the answer to these questions is self-evident. Unlike the Wizard of Oz who once revealed is subdued, the Wizard of America's effect will persist for many years to come.

Global peace in our time is a delusion.

Again, the Canadian government's efforts to navigate through the chaos are on the right track.  Despite the vacuous criticisms of opposing political hack these efforts will, in the long run make us a stronger, self-reliant country.
